Safety above all: are we becoming a “bubble wrap” society? PLUS – we are suing Nova Scotia!

In her latest video, Christine Van Geyn announces a new legal challenge against the Nova Scotia government over its recent travel ban forbidding accessing the woods for activities like hiking, birdwatching, and picnicking, citing wildfire prevention. The CCF argues this is an unjustified infringement on civil liberties and is pursuing a judicial review. This comes as part of the growing issue of “safetyism,” a societal trend where governments prioritize safety (including emotional safety) above fundamental freedoms like free speech, mobility, and personal autonomy.
